Minneapolis City Council member Dean Zimmermann (Green Party, Ward 6) has created a PRT plan for Minneapolis. He has also introduced a resolution supporting PRT to the City Council. This is a very exciting development that helps prepare Minneapolis to take the lead in developing PRT!

Dean has mapped out every block of a 31 mile, 68 station network connecting downtown Minneapolis, the west bank of the University, the Cedar-Riverside neighborhood, the Minnehaha-Lake shopping district, the Midtown Greenway, Chicago-Lake, Lyn-Lake, and Uptown. The plan connects to the new Light Rail line at 4 points, including 2 shared Light Rail / PRT station. It connects directly into the downtown Minneapolis skyway system at 6 points — so downtown workers can go directly from the PRT vehicle into the skyways. The plan connects 3 major hospitals and 2 major sports arenas.
